Whit Blanton Appointed to APA Legislative and Policy Committee

American Planning Association President Bruce Knight has appointed Whit Blanton, AICP, to serve as a member of APA’s Legislative & Policy Committee for a term ending in 2010. Considered to be APA’s "hardest working committee," the focus of much of the committee’s work this year will be on federal policy dealing with sustainability, climate change, stimulus funding, surface transportation legislation, and housing. In addition, the committee is responsible for updating and drafting APA’s policy guides covering a wide range of planning practice, and taking a leadership role in national issues of importance to states and localities.
